Reflections of Reality-Shimon Okshteyn

Shimon Okshteyn’s new solo exhibition Reflections of Reality, opened on Friday, October 10th, 2008 at the Heist Gallery, LES.

STUX Gallery directors, Stefan Stux and Andrea Schnabl were in attendance at the opening with Okshteyn’s entourage as well as the young owner Talia Eisenberg of the HEIST gallery.

For this ground breaking exhibition Okshteyn covered the gallery’s interior with his work, including mirrors to reflect “the jarring fragmentation of contemporary life … and to incorporate the viewer into the work, combining the subject with the object”.

Reflections of Reality will be on view, October 11th – November 7th, 2008.
